What a fantastic afternoon we have had at St. Julian’s Primary! Today was our Year 5 and 6 Sports Day and what a Sports Day it was! At 13:15, lots of parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles descended  onto our school field to sit in the warm weather and watch their children take part in a variety of sporting events. Mr Rees briefly welcomed everyone and then Mrs Hollings blew the whistle to start the first race. There were lots of events, including: hurdles, long jump, shot-put, javelin, skipping, shuttle relay, sprint, and long-distance. All of the children did brilliantly and we were so proud of the amount of effort that went into each race. The score for all four houses (Ebbw, Llwyd, Wysg & Hafren) was fairly close throughout the whole afternoon but there could only be one winning house and this year, it was Hafren!

Thank you to Mrs Cooke for organising the whole afternoon and also a special ‘thank you’ to the mums on our PTA, who sold refreshments all afternoon!!
