Well, what a fantastic half term we’ve had learning about the Tudors in our theme ‘Don’t lose your head!’ From the very first lesson, in which we received a parcel full of clues and artefacts about our new theme, we’ve been gripped! We have engaged in independent research to learn as much about King Henry VIII as possible and made some fantastic Mentimeters and Padlets about what we now know. Our trip to the Stuart-era manor house, Llancaiach Fawr, was packed full of activities to teach us about how people handled illness, medicine, food and life during this period. We had so much fun making plague bags and soap, it all smelled divine! Thank you to all parents and students who took part in offering suggestions of how we could build our theme and lesson ideas. We had a great time building on one idea in particular when we made and ate our herby and spicy rolls – yum! We’ve also been busy learning about the human body and have made group presentations based on our very own research! We loved looking at our organs with the special Virtuali-tee. Our ICT lesson ‘The Secret Chest’ delivered by NDEC online gave us an insight into how different codes can be used to pass secret messages.
Happy half term everyone! We’re already looking forward to the next half 🙂
