Another great afternoon of sports, today; this time, the turn of Year 3 & 4 children! The sun was almost shining, over 200 parents and grandparents gathered along the top of our field and the children were full of excitement! Mr Rees welcomed every one, at 1:15pm, and then we immediately launched into our first race! Every year, the four houses (Hafren, Llwyd, Wysg and Ebbw) battle it out for the coveted St. Julian’s House Trophy! There was skipping, sprinting, relay racing, shotput throwing, javlin throwing, long jumping…and lots of running! Pupils who won, got to stand on the podium to have their photograph taken (See Flickr Photo Stream). This year, Ebbw managed to win and enjoyed having their victory House Photograph taken, at the end of the afternoon.
Final Scores: Wysg: 210, Hafren: 204, Ebbw: 266, Llwyd: 242
We had a fantastic afternoon and all the children really enjoyed themselves. We’re so proud of each and every one of them! We’re also really grateful to our staff, particularly Mrs Cooke, for organising the afternoon. May we take this opportunity to apologise for the short notice of this event. We’re really sorry to any parents who were unable to attend due to work commitments. Unfortunately, we had to squeeze it in before the rain came. If you were unable to attend, we hope you’ll enjoy seeing the highlights in the video, below…
