Class 3 had two firemen (Rob and Simon) from Maindee Fire Station in to talk about fire safety today. We watched a video that showed how quickly a fire can spread and we were really shocked that it can take less than 2 minutes! They informed us of what steps to follow to stay safe, such as closing doors, staying low to the ground and phoning 999.
After the talk we had a chance to sit in the fire truck and heard the sirens. We also had a chance to try on a helmet which was really heavy. The fire service will be visiting Class 4 and 5 soon too.
