This half term we have continued our theme ‘Land Before Time…’. We have loved learning about dinosaurs! We have researched the three time periods dinosaurs lived in and plotted them on a timeline. In groups we then re-created the periods using natural items we found in our Forest School area.
We have spotted signs of spring and even planted our own sunflower seeds. We made sure they had enough water and sunlight. We are so excited to watch them grow and measure how tall they grow each week.
Another exciting part of our topic was learning about fossils. We became palaeontologists and carried out our own fossil dig using chocolate chip cookies. We learnt how resilient a palaeontologist needs to be when digging out fossils. We had so much fun!
We found a life size T-Rex footprint in our classroom, so we went outside and each put our shoes inside to see how big it was. We could fit 27 shoes inside!
We loved having a visit from Ranger Chris who showed us some dinosaur bones and teeth. We met Ronnie the T-Rex and even watched a dinosaur egg hatch!
