Year 1 enjoyed a great day at Usk Farm! On arrival, we took a muddy walk into the forest to make popcorn around a campfire, build dens, learn more about recycling and hunt for bugs in the bug hotel. We then had a go at some forest crafts such as weaving willow, cutting up wood to make kindling and making our own wood cookie necklaces. We spent the afternoon learning all about where our food comes from. We were lucky enough to meet some one week old calves and learned about where milk comes from. We even got to see inside the milking room! We then got to milk a pretend cow and sit on the farm tractor! What a great way to learn more about our topic!
