We have had a fantastic start to our Summer Term and have loved learning through our theme ‘O Dan Y Mor’ (Under the Sea).
In Literacy we have enjoyed reading the stories ‘Billy’s Bucket’ and ‘The Rainbow Fish’. We have been working really hard to retell the stories and have been adding adjectives to make our stories really interesting. In Numeracy we have been experimenting with the capacity of different objects.
One of the highlights of this half term has been our Sports Day. It was wonderful to have parents watching and cheering us on! It was great to see some of our Mums and Dads take part in a race too!
We have enjoyed being creative this half term, especially through our Curiously Creative afternoons! We loved using paper plates to make an octopus and clay to make our very own Rainbow Fish.
We loved decorating our fish biscuits and selling them out of the hatch. We were great at working together to count the money we had made. We are now going to write a list of things we would like to spend our profits on!
On the last day of the half term we enjoyed celebrating the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with a whole school tea party with sandwiches and cakes!
We are very excited to start planning and preparing for the Creative Festival next half term (more information to follow). We have been listening to music from past decades and learning some super dance moves. We can’t wait to perform in front of all our parents next half term!
We ended the half term with the most amazing ‘Beach Day.’ It was so wonderful to let the children play at our St Julian’s beach and in the paddling pools. We watched Jenny Any Dots perform her amazing ‘Punch and Judy’ show and even had a special treat when the ice cream van came to visit. We cannot wait to enjoy the next part of our Summer term and carry on with our theme ‘O Dan Y Mor!’
