As it’s our ‘Healthy Living Week’, Miss Burgum managed to organise a visit to Tesco, to find out about their ‘Eat Happy – Farm to Fork’ project. The lucky children in Class 4, along with our ‘Healthy Leaf Group’, spent the morning at the Spytty Tesco Store, learning about where their produce comes from. They were given a tour of the whole store, including the kitchens. They were also taken into the Bakery and shown how the bread and cakes were made. Some children even had a go at kneading the dough. They also visited the fish counter (a highlight for many!!) where they were introduced to some of the fish and taught how the fish get from swimming in the sea, to ending up on their dinner plate!
All the children were given hats and aprons to wear and every child thoroughly enjoyed the visit. Thanks to Spytty Tesco for having us and thanks to Miss Burgum for organising the trip.
