Multiplication forms the building blocks for other mathematical concepts. Once children are confident in the use of their times tables, they can begin to apply this knowledge to calculating a variety of sums. As we feel that times tables are so important, we are introducing an exciting new reward system from Year 2 to Year 6 to encourage pupils to learn them. You will receive a letter in January with more information about this. Please work with your children to practise their times tables at home as it will benefit them greatly as they begin to tackle more complex calculations.
