So it’s almost time for our Y6 pupils to take the to the stage, for their end-of-year leavers’ production. Everyone’s been working tirelessly to memorise their lines, learn the songs, set the stage up and rig the sound and lighting equipment. The children have been fantastic and are really enjoying rehearsals. I won’t spoil the surprise of what show we’re doing, just yet, but here’s a clue…there have been lots of laughs, particularly when mimicking cockney accents!
Several weeks ago, the Y6 pupils auditioned for their parts, for which, they had to sing a song from the show, in front of Mrs Orford, Mrs Cooke and Mr Mansfield. It really was such a difficult task having to pick the cast, but we’ve tried to make sure everyone who auditioned, has a leading part. The Year 6s have the acting roles each year, but the Year 5s are just as important; they make up the choir and musicians. They’ve sounded absolutely amazing every time we’ve rehearsed and have done really well to learn so many lyrics in such a short space of time.
Today was our first dress rehearsal and the costumes were looking fantastic. Mrs Denis has done a super job, making/finding/altering costumes. We’re really exited to for the first performance and can’t wait to see parents’ faces when they see their stars on stage.
Tickets will go on sale on Monday, at the bargain price of £3!
