It’s been a whirlwind of excitement and action-packed adventures during this half-term at school! From kicking footballs to scoring tries, our pupils have been busy showcasing their skills and teamwork in various sporting events. And boy, did they make us proud!
Our journey began with the ‘Girls Football League’ tournament held at Newport’s International Sports Village. Despite the rain, the girls’ football team displayed sheer determination and enthusiasm, making the most out of every moment on the field. Their resilience paid off as they emerged from the tournament with smiles on their faces, having enjoyed every moment of the experience.
But the excitement didn’t stop there. The following day saw our girls’ Tag-Rugby team making their mark at the WRU Girls’ Rookie Rugby event held at the Cwmbran Stadium. With brilliant ball skills and unwavering teamwork, our girls showcased their prowess in the game, leaving spectators in awe of their performance. It was a testament to their hard work and dedication both on and off the field.
More recently, our tag-rugby team also had the incredible opportunity to participate in the Dragon’s Gateway Festival at Rodney Parade. Playing on the grounds where rugby legends have left their mark was an unforgettable experience for pupils. Meeting some of the Dragon rugby players was the cherry on top!
In addition to the on-field action, we were delighted to have Newport Live join us as part of their Momentwn project. Their contribution to our school community has been invaluable, providing free bike health checks and delivering engaging bike skills sessions to both parents and children.
We’re pleased to announce that we have a number of sporting events and activities to look forward to in the Summer term.
