Firstly, a HUGE ‘thank you’ to all the pupils, parents, staff and governors who arrived at the school to help clear the paths around the site this morning – your efforts were greatly appreciated! We were really overwhelmed by the amount of people who showed up to help. Young or old, big or small; you were absolutely awesome! You can view the photos of our wonderful volunteers below. Thank you so much for giving up your time.
We know that lots of others were also willing to come in and help but had only just seen the message as we were finishing. Thank you to you also! It’s days like today when everyone pulls together, that demonstrate what a brilliant team of staff, parents and pupils we are at St. Julian’s.
We plan to open tomorrow (Monday 5th), providing the paths we’ve cleared do not become icy overnight. Please take care on your way in and only use the paths we’ve cleared.
The Constable Drive gate and the Beaufort Centre sports cage gate will probably not be opened, so please use the front entrances to the school. We will assess the situation in the morning and get a message out to update you.
Unfortunately, there will be NO breakfast club tomorrow.
The Y4 swimming lessons will not take place tomorrow.
All Foundation Phase children should enter the building through their classroom doors as usual except for Miss Browne’s (Class 9) and Miss Jones’ (Class 8) reception classes, who should enter through the main Foundation Phase entrance.
All junior children should enter the building through the main Junior entrance as soon as they arrive on site.
We plan to hold our Eisteddfod tomorrow. Pupils can wear Welsh costumes or dress in their house colours. As always, this will be live-streamed, so parents can join in the celebrations at home. If you’re an instrumentalist, please bring your instrument.
A full list of schools in Newport which are open on Monday 5th March can be found here.
Once again, thank you for all your support over the past few days.
