What an exciting final half term we have had in Reception! We have loved visiting lots more countries including, Mexico and Uganda for our topic ‘What A Wonderful World’. We have tried delicious foods, created beautiful art work and enjoyed traditional music. We were also lucky enough to have a special visit from Upbeat music to teach us how to play an African drum called a ‘djembe’. We had so much fun! To conclude our time in our final country, Mexico, we had our fiesta and it was HOT! Despite it actually feeling like we were in Mexico, we all had a brilliant time and we hope you did too!
As well as learning about our fantastic topic, we had another exciting project which was to prepare for our creative festival to celebrate the Queens platinum jubilee and our school being open for 70 years. We found out lots about the decade we had been assigned and prepared costumes, learnt facts, songs and dances to showcase to you all. Thank you all for coming to support us, we hope you enjoyed it!
As we come to the end of Reception we are getting excited for all of the new challenges to come. This half term we were able to have a day with our new teachers, which we all enjoyed and has made us even more excited for Year 1!
A final thank you for all of your support this year. We have loved teaching your wonderful children and we know they will be amazing in Year 1! Good luck everyone and have a fantastic summer!
Team Reception.
