Wow! It is already half – term and what a wonderful half – term it has been. We have had great fun with our Ar Y Fferm, On The Farm, theme. Our book this term was ‘What The Ladybird Heard’, we learnt all about communication and speaking up for ourselves.
Reception enjoyed so many different activities based around farms and farming. From finding out about farm animals and learning their names in Welsh to planting garlic greens and churning their own butter. We used the garlic greens and butter to make garlic bread which was delicious. Everyone enjoyed baking, and eating, our farm fresh flapjacks. They were a sell out hit! We would like to give a great big shout out to all our enterprising helpers at the hatch.
Planting our own class tree was definitely a highlight of this term. It will be lovely for each class to be able to revisit and check on its growth as they move through the school.
Eisteddfod is quickly approaching and all the Reception classes have been working really hard on their country dancing and are looking forward to performing. Have a fantastic week off and we look forward to seeing you back at school.
