What better way is there to spend your final afternoon before a half term break, than reading with our Reading Buddies at Glyn Anwen?!
Over the recent years, we’ve built up a great relationship with the staff and residents at Glyn Anwen, a residential care home for the elderly.
Residents have been to our concerts, we’ve given them IT lessons and last year, we started reading to them.

We wanted to continue this and so this afternoon, a number of our Y4 pupils went over to visit. They took with them their favourite reading books, ready to entertain some of the residents for the afternoon by telling them a story.

All of our pupils really enjoyed reading to their new buddies and enjoyed having a chat about school. It’s a wonderful opportunity which allows our pupils to practise their reading and the residents get to listen to a wonderful story and see some friendly faces; everyone’s a winner!!

Next term, pupils from another class will continue with this exciting initiative!
