On a glorious day in Newport, 11 girls from Year 6 spent a great day at Newport Cricket Club, competing in the annual Newport Schools Cricket Festival. Drawing one game and winning two, St. Julian’s narrowly missed out on a place in the final of the tournament. With beautiful sunshine, a variety of smashing shots and excellent bowling; the girls performed brilliantly and were unfortunate to fall at the final hurdle. All the children were presented with certificates and after a few eye catching performances, an open invitation to attend training with Newport Cricket Club.
Well done to all the pupils involved for their fantastic performance and excellent behaviour throughout the day.
