Glyn Anwen is a residential care-home for the elderly, operated and managed by ‘Linc Cymru’. We immediately became involved with Glyn Anwen when it was built a few years ago, because one of our pupils won a competition to give it its name. Since then, we’ve built up a close relationship with staff and residents.
Our school choir are regulars over there, performing several times a year at various occasions. Our Digital Leaders have also been over armed with iPads and laptops, to give IT lessons to the residents who want to learn how to use a computer. We’ve shown them how to type, how to email and how to search the Internet. One lady even purchased her own iPad after our visit. As a special treat, the residents often come over for our annual Summer Garden Party to celebrate world book week.
