Y5&6 have had a fantastic afternoon! This term, the theme for Years 5 and 6 pupils is ‘Cracking Ideas’. Pupils have worked in groups to come up with their own entrepreneurial ideas and start a business. From selling balloons, to throwing wet sponges at teachers, to making ice creams, there have been lots of fantastic ideas!
Each pupil has invested £2 into their business, but today was the day when the pupils had the opportunity to present their business proposals to a collection of ‘Dragons’, in our very own ‘Dragons’ Den’.
Our dragons came from a global finance firm, GMAC Financial, and brought their stacks of cash to invest into the pupils’ businesses. The pupils had to negotiate with Dragons to sell a percentage of their businesses, in order to get more money for stock.
Pupils will have their first sales event tomorrow, where Year 3 and 4 pupils will bring in their pocket money to purchase the goods and services on offer.
The children presented to the Dragons really well and spoke with such confidence. All groups were able to secure an investment from the Dragons and are looking forward to counting their profits at the end of the project.
