What a fantastic weekend! On Friday morning, our Y6s arrived at school with their sleeping bags and suitcases, ready for an action-packed trip to Llangrannog. We organise a residential trip for our Year 6 leavers every year but this was the first time we had ever been to Llangrannog.
The coaches arrived and collected the 63 Y6 pupils who had opted to go. After a three hour coach journey, we arrived at the Llangrannog Urdd Centre and unloaded our suitcases. We were given ten minutes to find our rooms and unpack our things and were then told to assemble the children on the football pitch. They split us into groups and we were immediately launched into our first activities.
Throughout the course of the weekend, the children were given the opportunity to go: horse riding, quad-biking, go-karting, tobogganing, skiing, trampolining, climbing, shelter building and also had a go at completing the high-ropes course and ‘messy obstacle course’.
Even Mr. Rees enjoyed taking part in some of the activities, when he came to visit us on Saturday…
On Friday evening, we walked along the coastal path to the local beach. It was lovely to be by the sea and the views, along the way, were spectacular.
The children took a while to settle to sleep on the first night, due to all the excitement, but slept much better on the second night as they were so exhausted!
On Saturday night, there was a Disco with all the other schools that were there. We all put on our ‘glad rags’ and headed over to the sports hall. It’s great being such a big school as our pupils took the dance floor by storm and started a large circle, in which everyone started to show off their moves! Our gymnasts provided a spectacular show which ‘wowed’ everyone!
Throughout the whole weekend, our children were so well behaved and were a credit to the school. It was such a fun and enjoyable time for pupils and teachers alike, although it was also somewhat emotional knowing that we only had one week left with our amazing children, before the end of term.
A huge ‘thank you’ to Mrs Robinson, Mrs Cooke, Mrs Lewis, Mr Prewett and Mr Jones, for giving up their weekend to come on the trip, but most of all a gigantic ‘thank you’ to Mrs Hollings, who organised the whole trip!
We will all sleep well tonight. Back to school tomorrow… and we have a show to put on!!! Don’t be late!
