So…the holidays are almost over and it’s nearly time to return to school. We hope you’ve had a great break and are all recharged and ready to return to school!

NATO Summit

Please remember that on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th September, The Celtic Manor will be hosting the NATO Summit. We have been advised that there will be significant disruption to Newport and along with many other Newport Schools, have made the decision to close to pupils on both days. We apologise for any inconvenience.

Information for parents of pupils starting Reception

Before the end of the summer term, an information evening was held for parents of new Reception children. The following information was provided…

Children who attended morning nursery will attend school for only the morning until the 11th August. (Not Thurs 4th/Fri 5th – see below). Children who attended afternoon nursery will attend school for only the afternoon. (Not Thurs 4th/Fri 5th – see below)

Week 1

9.00am –11.40 am

1.10pm  – 3.00pm

Mon  1st Sept am nursery pm nursery
Tues 2nd Sept am nursery pm nursery
Weds 3rd Sept am nursery pm nursery
Thurs 4th Sept School closed – NATO summit
Fri 5th Sept School closed – NATO summit

 

Week 2

9.00am –11.40 am

1.10pm  – 3.00pm

Mon  8th Sept pm nursery am nursery
Tues 9th Sept pm nursery am nursery
Weds 10th Sept pm nursery am nursery
Thurs 11th Sept All Children to attend 8.45 – 3.10
Fri 12th Sept All Children to attend 8.45 – 3.10

Reception children start full time school on: Thursday 11th September 

School starts:  8.45 am

School finishes:  3.10pm

Lunch time:  11.50am – 1.00pm

Please note that if your child did not attend St Julian’s Primary nursery, please can they attend school during the afternoon for week 1 and during the morning sessions for week 2.

 

KS2 Pupils

The KS2 teachers will be out on the front yard by 8:45am. Children should line up in two lines in front of their new teacher; a boy’s line and a girl’s line. If you are unsure who your new teacher is, please see Mr Rees who will also be on the front yard.
